Expedition 308 Information
IODP Proposal 589, "Overpressure and Fluid Flow Processes in the Deepwater Gulf of Mexico: Slope Stability, Seeps and Shallow Water Flow", was first submitted in March, 2000. It has gone through three major revisions and a number of Safety Panel Reviews. The proposal was accepted for drilling at the January 2005 IODP PPSP meeting. The Proposal is now referred to as Expedition 308 and is scheduled to sail from late May through early July, 2005. The chief scientist is Dr. Peter Flemings.
