In a UNIX/LINUX shell type:
1. geo_start
Note: you must have a license file in your .cshrc.cat file to open Geolog
1. Are you getting an error message while trying to open Plot Layouts? click here
2. Are you getting an error message while trying to display a scale/log?
Error Message reads: Log "SSSTVD" not found in loginfo specification.
Soultion: The scale/log you are trying to display is not recognized by geolog
because it is not in the loginfo.loginfo file. To fix the problem, add the
scale/log and description to the loginfo.loginfo file
/pecten/s0/s4g/mincom/geolog616sol/imperial/specs/loginfo.loginfo
You must be mincom to edit this file. If you do not have mincom
permissions or are unsure of how to edit the file, please contact Brandon
or Heather.
3. Are you unable to access old geolog files. Example case, Peter was trying to access some of Beth's work and he could not find some of the wells or some of her sets within wells.
Solution: It appears that the geolog upgrade from .dbf well format to .well format did not convert all of the files. The quick fix is to run geolog615 in the false mode. Note you CANNOT run 616 in the false mode.
To run in the false mode:
1) start geolog615 (geolog6 command does this)
2) select the project you want to use
3) select the 'project' pull down menu (not the project button) and click on 'run'
4) in the run window, enter
set env(MIN_GEOLOG6DB) false
and select OK
5) select the well button and proceed as normal
Long term solution: We need to run geolog in false mode, dump all the non-converted files/sets to ascii and then reload into geolog616.
